Network Specialist (Linux/Network)

Location: Beavercreek, Kettering, Dayton, OH

Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Top Secret and open to a poly

More about your role:

At NASK, we're growing, building great teams, and doing exciting work. You will be on-site at NASIC and in our Dayton Metro offices, but will also have the opportunity to support our other offices in Fairfax, VA, and Aurora, CO. You will achieve in-depth knowledge of company processes, systems, and networks. You will follow established IT policies and procedures to perform audits and ensure compliance. You will be able to monitor assigned systems to ensure high availability, optimal performance, and security. Additionally, you will design, implement, secure, and maintain systems and associated applications, services, and components, while also assisting with day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades. You will also be able to ensure data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of prior Network/system administration experience
  • TS clearance with the ability to obtain a SCI
  • Five or more years' experience with Linux & Windows Server and built-in roles (i.e. Active Directory, etc.)
  • COMPTIA Security+ certification
  • Linux System Administration work experience
  • Working knowledge and experience with Tier 1 Support (hardware/software/peripherals)
  • Understanding and ability to implement information systems security best practices
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Professionalism and courtesy in all interactions
  • Working knowledge of core system administration protocols
  • Works well under pressure and models a strong work ethic
  • Focuses on results and follows through on commitments and assignments

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prefer BS in computer science, business administration, MIS, or related field
  • Experience with SSL certificates and certificate authorities
  • Experience with ICD 503 Security Practices
  • Git/Subversion familiarity
  • JIRA (or equivalent task management) familiarity
  • Networking (Routing/Subnetting/Layer 2/3) familiarity
  • Storage (RAID/NFS/CIFS) concept familiarity
  • Strong Linux Experience
  • Security clearance: Active TS/SCI with a poly
