The Project Manager/Director will lead, oversee, and coordinate all aspects of a federal contract supporting the CDC. This role serves as the primary liaison between contract staff, CDC COR (Contracting Officer's Representative), CDC program leadership, and contractor management. The Project Manager/Director is responsible for ensuring successful delivery of all contract deliverables, on-time performance, budget adherence, and staffing alignment across CDC CORVD teams.

Requires a NACI Public Trust or the ability to obtain one.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Project Manager: Pay commensurate with experience.

Project Manager Responsibilities Include:
  • Contract Oversight & Coordination
    • Monitor risks, issues, timelines, schedules, and budgets for the contract.
    • Maintain regular communications with the CDC COR and contract Project Manager to ensure alignment on deliverables.
    • Serve as the day-to-day primary point of contact for all stakeholders including CDC program leadership and contract staff.
    • Attend and support regular meetings between the CDC COR and Project Manager.
    • Liaise with contractor management to communicate project progress, risks, and financials.
  • Staffing & Talent Management
    • Maintain an updated inventory of contract staff and their alignment with CDC CORVD Teams.
    • Oversee recruitment efforts for vacated roles, including resume reviews, reference checks, and recommendations to CDC.
    • Assist CDC CORVD teams with realignment of staff during organizational transitions.
    • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding of staff in collaboration with CDC CORVD.
    • Resolve personnel concerns and mediate issues between staff and CDC leadership.
  • Administrative Reporting & Communication
    • Provide monthly administrative reports on staffing activities, including reviews of work product quality and adherence to best practices.
    • Compile and submit a monthly statistical/narrative report covering pending and proposed staffing actions, staffing levels, and coverage.
    • Deliver weekly or biweekly status updates to CDC COR and other stakeholders as required.
    • Prepare and submit quarterly summary reports and annual progress reports detailing project performance and outcomes.
    • Provide a final progress report at contract completion, summarizing performance over the base and any option years.
  • Operational Support
    • Support CDC staff by organizing project-related meetings, preparing documentation, and tracking decisions and outputs.
    • Coordinate travel logistics for contract staff in accordance with project needs.
    • Ensure contract-related projects remain on schedule and within scope through continuous monitoring and summarization of progress.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned


Project Manager Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience managing federal government contracts or large-scale public health projects.
  • Experience working with CDC or other federal health agencies is highly desirable.
  • Proven expertise in risk management, scheduling, budgeting, and staff coordination.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project tracking tools, and reporting systems.
