The Program Analyst supports strategic planning, data reporting, program evaluation, and operational analysis for CDC's CORVD Division/Branch. This role involves collecting, analyzing, and maintaining key programmatic data (including grants, cooperative agreements, travel, and budgets), coordinating across multiple stakeholders, and developing reports that support informed decision-making and policy development. The Program Analyst also serves as a key administrative liaison and systems integrator, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance in all project-related data and reports.

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Program Analyst: Pay commensurate with experience.

Program Analyst Responsibilities Include:
- Program Data Analysis & Reporting
- Perform basic analysis of the availability, accuracy, and consistency of data for program project studies.
- Generate and interpret statistical and programmatic reports on CDC data, research activities, and project milestones.
- Analyze and track Division/Branch travel data, projecting current and future travel-related costs.
- Program Tracking & Evaluation
- Maintain automated tracking systems for external projects, including grants, cooperative agreements, and funding accomplishments.
- Collect, compile, and track data related to administrative activities, grant budgets, and program performance.
- Provide support for budget reviews, financial tracking, and forecasting.
- Research & Resource Development
- Conduct research using publications, databases, and libraries to summarize and extract information needed for program and policy development.
- Perform work related to the acquisition and development of program information, guidance documents, and technical materials.
- Administrative & Operational Support
- Coordinate the acquisition of telecommunication equipment (e.g., Blackberries, cell phones, international service) and assess current/future equipment needs.
- Perform various administrative tasks including document creation, data entry, spreadsheet maintenance, and reporting automation.
- Develop and maintain office administrative resources (e.g., general policies, SOPs, monthly/annual requirements).
- Maintain and organize files and records according to federal regulations and organizational schedules.
- Systems & Interdepartmental Coordination
- Input data into CDC systems and databases to support personnel, procurement, and operational tracking.
- Act as a liaison between the program office and external administrative offices, responding to inquiries and resolving process or priority-related issues.
- Attend division-level meetings or teleconferences to represent program support functions and report on administrative or project concerns.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Program Analyst Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field; OR Ph.D. with 7-10+ years of related experience OR 5-10 years of progressively responsible experience in program analysis and support
- Demonstrated experience working with federal programs, public health data, grants/cooperative agreements, and administrative systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with CDC systems (e.g., travel, procurement, grants tracking) preferred
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders
