Altus specializes in delivering comprehensive engineering, prototyping, testing, and production capabilities, including design, fabrication, assembly, and compliance support to our Government customers. The Preventative Maintenance (PM) Technician will be responsible for tool maintenance and repair support as required in the form of preventive maintenance on equipment and power tools.
We are looking for an individual that can use their Preventative Maintenance and Mechanical Repair experience to add value and make a significant impact as a Fabrication & Machine Shop PM Technician to NAVAIR for this opportunity.

Conditions will vary. Capable of working outdoors and occasionally from elevated work platforms with a fall protection harness and in temperatures ranging from 0-100 degrees. The position will include: 45% standing, 20% bending, 15% reaching, 5% sitting, 5% walking, and 10% lifting. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Overtime is a requirement of this position.

The Preventative Maintenance (PM) Technician will be responsible for tool maintenance and repair support as required in the form of preventive maintenance on equipment and power tools.
We are looking for an individual that can use their Preventative Maintenance and Mechanical Repair experience to add value and make a significant impact as a Fabrication & Machine Shop PM Technician to NAVAIR for this opportunity.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform periodic maintenance (PM), servicing, and repair of machinery, equipment, and facilities as per DoD/DoN and OEM publications to ensure all assets are maintained in a safe and ready for use (RFU) condition.
- Perform calibrations and adjustments on equipment, machinery, and tools.
- Oversee scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, to include minor repairs, general housekeeping, and PM inspection cycles of all EPF equipment and facilities.
- Perform major maintenance on selected shop machinery and equipment.
- Accurately maintain all maintenance, servicing, and repair records for machinery, equipment, and facilities assigned to EPF.
- Rapidly respond to machinery and equipment issues throughout the shop when reported. Schedule and coordinate major repair or replacement of equipment via the Program Manager and Shop Supervisor when required.
- Maintain the library of machinery and equipment technical manuals, replacement part catalogs, and historical records. Assist in requisitioning tools and materials to support PM.
- Support OEM vendor or in-house installation of new machinery and equipment.
- Perform other basic tasks as required to support customer requirements.
Qualifications:
- Active U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance (Must have interim clearance before start date)
- Must possess a valid Maryland Drivers License
- High School Diploma
- 3 years of equipment PM, maintenance, and repair experience.
- Must be physically capable of working from heights and obtaining and maintaining required certification for equipment operation, to include forklifts and aerial work platforms.
- Shop electrical connection, troubleshooting, and repair experience related to equipment and facility maintenance operations.
