Overview of Opportunity
Two Six Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer to support mobile systems research and development projects focused on national security and cybersecurity. This role is tailored for a technical individual contributor with expertise in Python development, DevOps engineering, and scalable system design. You will contribute to cutting-edge R&D platforms by building tools, infrastructure, and automation that enable mobile vulnerability researchers, reverse engineers, and CNO developers to explore and validate critical low-level system behaviors.
This is a hybrid role offering remote work flexibility with one week of on-site collaboration per quarter (typically in the D.C. area).

Two Six Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer to support mobile systems research and development projects focused on national security and cybersecurity. You will contribute to cutting-edge R&D platforms by building tools, infrastructure, and automation that enable mobile vulnerability researchers, reverse engineers, and CNO developers to explore and validate critical low-level system behaviors.

What You'll Do
- Collaborate closely with reverse engineers and vulnerability researchers to support mobile and embedded systems analysis projects.
- Develop tools and infrastructure to facilitate vulnerability discovery, proof-of-concept development, and dynamic analysis across mobile platforms (e.g., Android).
- Design and implement Python-based software systems that integrate data pipelines, analysis automation, and scalable backend services.
- Support the creation of reproducible test environments using virtualization, containerization, and DevOps workflows.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code templates, and cloud deployments to enable secure, mission-ready development environments.
- Work in Linux-based development environments and contribute to system observability, performance tuning, and usability enhancements.
- Contribute to architectural design discussions, code reviews, and cross-functional sprint planning.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- 3-5 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on Python development
- Strong background in DevOps practices including CI/CD, containerization (Docker), and infrastructure tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Terraform, Ansible)
- Proficiency in Linux environments and version control systems like Git
- Experience working with REST APIs, backend frameworks, and databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch)
- Familiarity with systems-level software or mobile platforms such as Android
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort working in agile teams
Nice to Have:
- Prior experience supporting reverse engineering, vulnerability research, or cybersecurity tool development
- Exposure to Android internals, embedded Linux systems, or mobile development environments
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Familiarity with scripting, test harness development, and emulated device environments
- Contributions to open-source projects or collaborative development communities
Security Clearance:
- Must be eligible to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
