Job Description:

Designs, develops, and oversees system architectures, including complex systems and systems design activities for the NCRC RM. Ensures conversion of NCRC system requirements into cohesive solutions that account for the design, technology maturity, cost, and schedule constraints of the system. Supports design reviews. Maintains knowledge of current and emerging technologies and design and analysis methodologies. Develops models and architectural guidelines for current and future system development. Advises the Government about new technologies, trade studies, analyses of alternatives, and technology assessments.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with a focus in computer science, or a focus in computer and information sciences, engineering, mathematics, management information systems, or a related discipline with corresponding experience and demonstrated mastery of relevant computer science topics.

• 7+ years of related, proven experience designing, evolving, and maintaining complex system architectures comprising dozens of configuration items.

• 3+ years of related, proven experience designing, evolving, and maintaining multi-tenant data center architectures.

• 5+ years of related, proven experience conducting technical trade studies, analyses of alternatives, and formal assessments of current and emerging technologies.

• Intermediate knowledge of cyber security, including common risks to IT systems.

• Working knowledge of software development and requirements management.

• Basic knowledge of programming languages, operating systems, networking, and network design.

• Intermediate knowledge of enterprise IT concepts, architectures, and systems (compute, network, storage).

• Basic knowledge of software defined networking and network function virtualization

(NFV).

• Intermediate knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies.

• Strong leadership and organizational skills.

• Experience balancing multiple competing/conflicting system design desiderata.

• Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to express

technical ideas to senior decision makers.

Desired Qualifications:

• Master's degree with a focus in computer science.

• 12+ years of related, proven experience designing, evolving, and maintaining complex system architectures comprising dozens of configuration items.

• 6+ years of related, proven experience designing, evolving, and maintaining multi-

tenant data center architectures.

• 8+ years of related, proven experience conducting technical trade studies, analyses of alternatives, and formal assessments of current and emerging technologies.

• Advanced understanding of cyber security, including security protocols, cryptography, and system security measures and implementations.

• Direct experience with software development and requirements management.

• Intermediate knowledge of programming languages, operating systems, networking, and network design.

• Expert knowledge of enterprise IT concepts, architectures, and systems (compute, network, storage).

• Experience building and/or maintaining complex enterprise infrastructures using various operating systems and services (e.g., Active Directory, Exchange, DNS,

• DHCP, VPN, email, databases, web servers, etc.).

• Working knowledge of cyber testing or training.

• Familiarity with cyber range tools, including deployment, configuration, monitoring, and traffic generation.

• Intermediate knowledge of software defined networking and network function virtualization (NFV).

• Familiarity with commercial cloud architectures, operations, and administration.

• Expert knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies.

• Experience working Government programs with controlled engineering baselines.
