Turn data into defense: Help validate next-gen missile simulations that protect our nation.
About the Role
Caribou Thunder is looking for a mission-driven Test Analyst III to join our elite modeling and simulation team supporting national missile defense initiatives. If you thrive on diving deep into data, testing cutting-edge systems, and seeing your work directly impact real-world defense capabilities—this might be your next career home.
A Day in the Life
• You start your morning comparing simulation outputs to real-world data to validate performance.
• By midday, you’re working side-by-side with software developers and system engineers to refine models and define new test strategies.
• In the afternoon, you’re documenting findings, preparing reports, and possibly briefing stakeholders.
• Each day, you help shape how the U.S. warfighter trains, tests, and defends—with data you’ve verified.
Is This You?
• You’re detail-obsessed and driven to ensure every simulation reflects reality.
• You enjoy working in fast-paced, agile teams where your insights drive improvements.
• You’re passionate about the intersection of tech, data, and national security.
Key Responsibilities
• Test and validate new modeling and simulation capabilities for missile defense systems.
• Compare simulation results to real-world data to assess accuracy and performance.
• Collaborate with development teams, system engineers, and stakeholders to define test objectives and acceptance criteria.
• Document test results, track issues, and contribute to the resolution of discrepancies.
• Support customer-facing technical briefings, reports, and presentations.
• Research technical specifications of space-based sensors and missile defense systems to support accurate modeling.
• Operate within agile development teams while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and 5 years of related experience OR a Master’s and 3 years.
• 2+ years in data analysis, modeling & simulation, or software testing.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (TS/SCI eligibility required).
• Strong analytical mindset and data-driven approach.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiar with Linux-based systems and SQL for data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
• Exposure to missile defense systems, OPIR simulations, or space-based sensors.
• Familiarity with Agile (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
• Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Git).
• Basic C++, Java, or simulation-related programming.
• Experience with discrete event simulation frameworks.
