We are seeking an Engineer to fill the position of Direct Support Engineer on the Special Electronic Mission Aircraft (SEMA) Team within the Technical Division of the Army Fixed Wing Project Office.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
- Support the Technical Division of the Fixed Wing Project Office as a Direct Support Engineer (DSE) on Special Electronic Mission Aircraft (SEMA).
- Be responsible for identifying shortcomings in support and recommend the need for additional assets from other elements of the FW Tech Division and coordinating that support.
- Work with the Army System Readiness Directorate to address airworthiness impacts to the program and facilitate the issuance of Airworthiness Releases (AWR).
- Serve as a team member and lead a diverse group of engineers to a consensus path forward on complex issues.
- Implement the system engineering processes, and be responsible supporting/managing all technical facets of assigned platforms such as: Establish/Track/Report system design and development objectives; Establish total system performance requirements and evaluation methods; Perform systems engineering planning and execution; Perform and review system performance analysis and evaluation; Assist in establishing and support technical acquisition strategies and plans; Support technical contract oversight and management; Assist in developing Statements of Work (SOWs) and other technical contract documents; Perform Risk Management; Support Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development and management; Conduct design trade studies and analysis of alternatives; Develop, monitor and execute annual budgets as assigned; Support technical cost estimating and modeling.
Required Experience:
- B. S. in Engineering discipline with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience (Degree in Aeronautical, Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering preferred).
- Possess an ability to identify and resolve problems (qualitative and quantitative) and recommend courses of action.
- Be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing and be comfortable conducting briefs at the IPT/0-6 level.
- Possess a knowledge of military and civil aviation systems and operation, with specific knowledge of Fixed Wing aviation platforms being a plus.
- US Citizenship with a minimum of an active Secret clearance.
