Leidos is seeking an experienced Testing and Configuration Technician to join our team at the Vista, CA facility, supporting the Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) Operations division. At Leidos SES, we are at the forefront of transforming global security by designing and manufacturing advanced detection technologies used across aviation, border control, seaport operations, and commercial environments. Our innovative product portfolio includes body scanners, CT baggage scanners, explosive trace detection systems, radiation detectors, spectrometers, and high-powered X-ray scanners for vehicles, cargo containers, and trains. These solutions play a critical role in protecting people and infrastructure around the world.

The Testing and Configuration Technician will be responsible for the test and configuration of various components and systems used to produce sophisticated scanning equipment.   The role requires someone with a strong understanding of network protocols and computer applications.   This is a manufacturing position that will execute the installation of software/firmware, test system functionality, and perform troubleshooting throughout the MFG process.   This role will be expected to perform varying levels of assembly and disassembly of the systems as required.   The ideal candidate is an energetic hands-on person able to multi- task and prioritize workloads.   Excellent written and verbal communication skills are paramount, as this position will interact with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and program management during daily operations.  

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Execute and lead manufacturing system testing both internally and customer facing
  • Participate or lead Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)
  • Provide guidance and direction to other team members during testing or troubleshooting activities
  • Conduct software/firmware installation and updates
  • Install operating systems (OS) on PC’s
  • Load system images
  • Clone hard drives
  • Interface with component GUIs to configure components
  • Troubleshooting of PC’s and their peripherals
  • Load PLC programming
  • Assembly of computer racks, cabling, and small assemblies
  • Provide manufacturing level feedback to engineering on test plans and procedures
  • Assist with work instructions development
  • Complete all required manufacturing related documentation
  • Adhere to company regulatory and compliance policies

 

Required Qualifications: 
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or research and development (R&D)
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (US Citizenship Required)
  • Comfortable working with heights (15+ feet) & working outside with varying weather conditions
  • Active drivers license required
  • Above average experience utilizing MS applications

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in computer science, networking or control systems
  • Certification in any of the following CompTIA A+, Network + Cisco, Routers

Pay Range: Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
