As a Senior Frontend Engineering Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our situational awareness capabilities. You will work alongside a talented team to develop and deploy enterprise-level applications that transform raw data into meaningful insights. Your expertise will guide the design and implementation of intuitive, high-performance user interfaces that meet the needs of our diverse user base.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Software Development: Oversee the design, development, and implementation of software solutions, ensuring they meet user requirements and adhere to best practices.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of software engineers by providing regular one-on-one coaching and conducting annual performance reviews to support development and drive growth.
- Collaboration: Work closely with UX/UI designers, product management, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Code Quality: Conduct code reviews, ensuring code quality and adherence to standards.
- Agile Practices: Lead agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance team efficiency and product quality.
Job Qualifications:
- Education: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in frontend software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, AngularJS, Vue.js).
- Strong understanding of TypeScript, CSS3, and HTML5.
- Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Vuex).
- Knowledge of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins).
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
- Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring software engineering teams.
- Data Visualization: Familiarity with data visualization libraries (e.g., D3.js, amCharts).
- Geospatial Tools: Experience with map-based applications using OpenLayers, Leaflet, or Google Maps.
- Cloud Technologies: Experience with AWS-hosted environments, Docker containerization, and Kubernetes.
- Additional Skills:
- Experience with CSS preprocessors (e.g., SASS, LESS).
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with Storybook to write reusable components for design systems.
- Comfortable working with Linux systems.
