Epsilon C5I (www.epsilonsystems.com/c5i), focused on software development and systems engineering for complex command, control, intelligence and combat systems, is seeking an Engineering Technician VI with a minimum of 12 years' experience for work in Charleston, SC. Our engineering efforts provide the warfighter with tools to support critical support to operational missions to improve targeting capabilities. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, preparation and modification of engineering documents and drawings in support of C4I Projects identified in the PWS.
  • Prepares designs and specifications for various complex equipment or systems (e.g., a heating system in an office building, or new electronic components such as solid state devices for instrumentation equipment)
  • Plans approach to solve design problems; conceives and recommends new design techniques; resolves design problems with contract personnel, and assures compatibility of design with other parts of the system; designs and coordinates test set-ups and experiments to prove or disprove the feasibility of preliminary design; Uses untried and untested measurement techniques; and improves the performance of the equipment.
  • May advise equipment users on redesign to solve unique operational deficiencies; plans approach and conducts various experiments to develop equipment or systems characterized by (a) difficult performance requirements because of conflicting attributes such as versatility, size, and ease of operation; or (b) unusual combination of techniques or components.
  • Arranges for fabrication of pilot models and determines test procedures and design of special test equipment.
  • Independently planning and accomplishing complete projects or studies of broad scope and complexity, or serving as an expert in a narrow aspect of a particular field of engineering, e.g., environmental factors affecting electronic engineering.
  • Supervise or train and be assisted by lower level technicians; Completed work is reviewed for compliance with overall project objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or four-year electronics apprentice program; or High School diploma or GED.
  • 12 years with degree/formal training or 14 years with HS/GED of practical experience in support of C4I projects identified in the PWS
  • Experience performing one or a combination of the following duties: designs, develops, and constructs major units, devices, or equipment; conducts tests or experiments; analyzes results and redesigns or modifies equipment to improve performance; and reports results; from general guidelines and specifications (e.g., size or weight requirements).
  • Ability to perform non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project, selects and adapts plans, techniques, designs, or layouts, contacts personnel in related activities to resolve problems and coordinate the work, reviews, analyzes, and integrates the technical work of others.
  • Must be able to obtain Cybersecurity Work Force (CSWF) qualification within 6 months.
  • Demonstrated technical experience in support of Navy C4I systems or other similar systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, telephone etiquette, and professional demeanor.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective team player with highly proficient customer service skills.
  • Flexible and able to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Candidate must have an active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI access.
  • Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.
