Position Summary:
Aegis Aerospace is currently seeking a GEOXO SIM GDS Hardware Engineer to support the modeling and development of digital simulation deliverables for the GEOXO program. This is a fully remote position supporting system-level hardware and simulation interface development.
Key Responsibilities:
The candidate will:
- Support the development of engineering hardware to integrate with digital simulations.
- Debug and troubleshoot electronic hardware using laboratory test equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and protocol analyzers.
- Develop engineering documentation, including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings.
- Assist with software development in Python, C/C++, C#, and/or Visual Basic for hardware and simulation support.
- Integrate hardware/software systems, including FPGA, microcontroller, and analog/digital interfaces.
- Collaborate with engineers on design reviews, bill of materials (BOM) creation, and test procedures.
- Support lifecycle hardware development from requirements to maintenance.
- Maintain version control using Git or Subversion, and support component procurement workflows.
Minimum Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 year of related aerospace industry work outside of an academic setting
- Experience with electronic circuit debugging and hardware troubleshooting
- Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, and multimeters
- Ability to develop schematics and support electrical design documentation
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python, C/C++, C#, Visual Basic)
Desired Qualifications:
- Masters's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience with test procedure development and execution
- Cable and harness design knowledge
- Experience with a range of circuit types including digital, analog, FPGA, and power supply systems
- Familiarity with standard communication protocols (MIL-STD-1553, SPI, I2C, RS-232, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design and layout interfaces
- VHDL/Verilog programming for Xilinx FPGAs
- Linux or Unix development experience
- Experience with hardware/software integration in a fast-paced development environment
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Git, Subversion) and procurement systems
Compensation:
