Zachary Piper Solutions is currently looking for an Associate Software Developer to support one of our partners on-site in Lanham, MD . The Associate Software Developer will be joining a fast growing satellite communications company that is focused on ramping up in order to launch multiple satellites per month. The individual will be supporting automation of a satellite command and control system that manages a fleet of low earth orbiting satellites.

Responsibilities for the Associate Software Developer include:
· Create, test, and maintain scripts that automate satellite command and control tasks, including ground operations, to ensure efficient management of the satellite fleet.
· Design and build custom tools to support on-orbit operations, enabling effective monitoring and control of the satellite constellation.
· Work closely with the standalone Ground Software (GSW) team to improve and iterate on existing systems, ensuring smooth integration between mission operations and ground software.
· Develop user interfaces and dashboards that provide intuitive access to operational data, enhancing situational awareness and decision-making.
· Regularly assess and refine mission operations software and automation scripts to address evolving requirements and enhance operational efficiency
· Conduct rigorous testing and debugging to maintain the reliability and performance of mission-critical applications in a rapidly evolving environment.
· Maintain comprehensive documentation of code, design decisions, and operational procedures while effectively communicating updates and challenges within cross-functional teams
Qualifications for the Associate Software Developer include:
· Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) field.
· Experience programming with modern languages such as Java, Python, Matlab, C#,
· Comfortable working in a Windows environment and on applications deployed in AWS
· Familiarity with version control software, preferably Git
· Familiarity with the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence)
· Comfortable setting up and maintaining simple databases
· Demonstrated ability to work independently
· High level of problem-solving capabilities
· Must be eligible to work in the United States and pass a background check.
Compensation for the Associate Software Developer include:
· Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 *depending on experience*
