Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven work experience as a SQL Server Developer, with hands-on DBA experience.
Strong knowledge of SQL Server development, database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Certifications:
Due to government contracting requirements, this role requires U.S. Citizenship.
CompTIA Security + or willingness to obtain.
DOD Secret Clearance or willing to obtain.

Key Responsibilities
Primary - SQL Development
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather requirements and design scalable, high-performance database solutions.
- Develop and maintain SQL Server objects including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Write efficient, well-structured T-SQL code to support application features and reporting needs.
- Optimize database schemas and queries for performance and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and enhance existing database logic and stored procedures.
- Support SQL Server installations, configurations, and upgrades as needed.
- Assist in monitoring and tuning database performance (e.g., indexing, query optimization).
- Contribute to backup and recovery planning and execution.
- Help enforce database security policies and access controls.
- Participate in regular maintenance tasks and health checks.
- Analyze execution plans and optimize queries to reduce resource usage.
- Support regression testing efforts by ensuring database readiness and stability.
- Collaborate with QA and DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployments and data integrity.
What We're Looking For
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of experience in MS SQL Server development, with hands-on DBA exposure.
- Advanced proficiency in T-SQL, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Strong understanding of relational database design, normalization, and data modeling.
- Proven experience in query optimization, execution plan analysis, and performance tuning.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues efficiently.
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining SQL Server instances.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies and disaster recovery planning.
- Ability to monitor and tune database performance (e.g., indexing, statistics, resource usage).
- Understanding of database maintenance tasks such as consistency checks, log management, and job scheduling.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to cloud-based SQL solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.
- Experience with automated testing and unit testing for database code.
- Knowledge of NoSQL or other database technologies.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
