Kratos is offering an exciting opportunity for a CCS-C Systems Administrator and Systems Integrator responsible for supporting, sustaining, and updating an existing satellite ground system. This role will involve maintaining the baseline through a regular release cycle - while additionally working with multiple teams as the primary integrator for new software capabilities. These capabilities will be developed into the infrastructure to advance national defense capabilities and to meet emerging business and user requirements. Candidate should be mission-driven to prioritize reliability, sustainability, performance, and security in all aspects. The candidate should have strong experience in Windows and Linux administration as well as some experience in networking and deployment of custom software. Due to the nature of the work, the candidate must possess (or be eligible to obtain) a DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across government and contractor teams are critical to success.

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Competitive salary based on experience and education
Salary Range: $100,000-$115,000

Primary responsibilities
- As primary integration Point-of-Contact (POC) for development teams - leverage expertise in virtualization (VMWare or equivalent) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, or equivalent) to add new elements to the existing baseline
- Integrate, deploy, and troubleshoot all system updates under the program to the existing system primarily in the classified development lab while also going to operational/test locations at PSFB/SSFB/VSFB as needed
- Coordinate efforts across legacy and new development teams to modernize and enhance the existing system
- Contribute and push for the adaptation of new technologies while ensuring continuity and stability of existing components
- Track and manage integration tasks and issues using Atlassian tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) throughout the system development lifecycle
- Support engineering design efforts by providing practical integration and implementation feedback during system design activities
- Support development efforts by installing and maintaining development tools and environments
- Support test automation, system validation, and verification efforts, integrating system test methodologies into integration processes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge base content to support operational continuity.
- This position is based in Colorado Springs, CO, at the Kratos Campus but will require frequent movement to Peterson and Schriever Space Force Bases (SFB).
Experience and Skills
- Five years of experience in Systems Administration or Software Integration.
- At least five years of experience in Space, IT, or Systems Administration, or a bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 2 years experience.
- Strong background in the Command and Control - Consolidated (CCS-C) system and associated satellite programs is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the government sustainment lifecycle, along with relevant experience in development, testing, engineering, and integration, is preferred. The candidate must be able to
- Effectively communicate technical concepts both orally and in writing to government and military customers and users.
- Self-motivation and leadership capabilities are essential.
- The selected applicant will undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- The position requires an active Security+ Certificate with CE and a minimum SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
- The role requires the ability to travel for up to two weeks per year (less than 5% of the time) and frequent travel within the city of Colorado Springs to the supported bases. Due to the 24/7 operational environment, occasional on-call support is required.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with CCS-C and associated satellite systems is highly desirable.
- Strong background in maintaining and sustaining IT systems is preferred, particularly in an operational environment.
- Familiarity with system administration, troubleshooting, and software integration processes is beneficial.
- Experience working with technologies such as Oracle, MySQL, Java/C++, Networking/Cisco, Linux, Windows, Active Directory, Docker/Kubernetes, NAS/SAN, VMware, and Ansible is a plus.
- Candidates with a system integration/operations/test/engineering background who can apply their expertise to system administration, sustainment, and troubleshooting will be well suited for this role.
