Key Responsibilities:
Soldering & Assembly:
Proficient in hand soldering techniques, including through-hole, surface mount (e.g., 0201 components, ICs), and rework/reflow soldering.
Assemble and solder electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) per specifications and quality standards.
Perform advanced-level assembly tasks including prep, mechanical, harness/cable assembly, PCB sub-assemblies, spray applications, and inspection.
Tools & Equipment:
Operate and maintain soldering equipment such as soldering irons, hot air guns, hot plates, microscopes, and soldering stations.
Ensure all tools and equipment are in proper working condition.
Technical Interpretation:
Read and interpret assembly instructions, blueprints, schematics, process flow instructions, and other technical documentation.
Collaborate with engineering to build first articles from prints/specifications without predefined processes.
Inspection & Quality Control:
Perform all aspects of inspection: in-process (3 points), final (3 points), and source inspection (4 points).
Maintain a high standard of quality in all work, aligned with SPC practices and company standards.
Team Leadership:
Serve as Team Lead for lower-level specialists, ensuring accountability and adherence to quality standards.
Orient, train, and mentor junior team members to support skill development and continuous improvement.
Continuous Improvement:
Actively participate in LEAN events, 5S/6S activities, and action/improvement teams.
Commit to delivering work on schedule, within budget, and with a focus on ongoing process enhancement.
Cross-Training:
Must be trained across all assembly stages and capable of interpreting and assembling all units within the department.
