SkillBridge (DoD) Internship – Program Manager

Overview

i3 is proud to help our nation's military personnel make the transition to civilian careers through the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge program. These opportunities are specifically for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. Participants are not eligible for compensation as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.

i3 will consider any active-duty member that is eligible for the DoD SkillBridge program; however, for immediate consideration, we are looking for Military members to fill the following role:

• Program Manager

Responsibilities

• Responsible for formulating and enforcing work standards, assigning contractor schedules, reviewing work discrepancies, supervising contractor personnel, and communicating policies, purposes, and goals of the organization to subordinates.
• Manage the development and preparation of proposals for programs and serve as the primary contact to respond.
• Determine the necessary schedules for proposal submittal, proposal preparation, pricing, and review the proposal for responsiveness to the program's requirements.
• Establishes budgets, forecasts, manpower, equipment, and supply needs for assigned area of responsibility.
• Designs, conducts and/or facilitates the preparation of the efficient and effective program metrics, other reports, and briefings as required.

Qualifications

SkillBridge Requirements:

• Must be a current Active Duty Servicemember.
• Must be separating from the Military within 180 days.
• Will receive an honorable discharge.
• Must be able to complete 40 hours per week.
• Willingness to learn from others on the job.
• Received Unit Commander written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, science, or other field relevant to the support for which the individual is supporting and at least 15 years of experience. Additional experience may substitute for degree.
• Active Secret Clearance. Clearance, Access, and Investigation must appear in DISS and be within scope (5 - Years).
• Current experience in managing government contracts and interacting with Contracting Officers, CORs, and Technical Monitors highly preferred.
• Experience with managing agile project plans and familiarity with tools such as MS Project, MS Azure and Jira highly preferred.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and prepare program proposals.
• Proficiency in establishing budgets, forecasts, and resource needs.
• Experience in designing and conducting program metrics, reports, and briefings.
• DoD planner with greater than 5 years of experience in cross functional team leadership at the operational and/or strategic level.
• DoD trainer with greater than 5 years of experience ranging from the tactical unit to service level.
