What You Will Do

As a Level 3 Data Scientist, you will provide advanced discovery support by leveraging a variety of techniques including machine learning, analytical prototyping, scripting, automation, data visualization, statistical analysis, and TechSIGINT tools. You'll design adaptable solutions that evolve with new tools and technologies, supporting mission-critical data-driven initiatives. This role involves close collaboration with technical leads, SMEs, and analysts, and benefits greatly from prior experience in targeting, discovery, or analytic roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support discovery and analysis by applying statistical methods, machine learning models, and automation strategies.
  • Build prototypes and scripts for processing, modeling, and visualizing large volumes of structured and unstructured SIGINT data.
  • Engage in technical collaboration with TDNA teams, DS, SIGDEV experts, and RF specialists (HF, VHF, UHF, SATCOM - experience here is a plus).
  • Employ data processing techniques including normalization, exploratory analysis, and database querying.
  • Use Jupyter Notebooks and Python to model data, build algorithms, and drive insights.
  • Deliver presentations or briefings that communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Translate mission needs into technical requirements and assist stakeholders in interpreting complex data sets.
  • Leverage a wide range of analytic and visualization tools to tell compelling data stories.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in data processing, normalization, and exploratory analysis.
  • Proficient in Jupyter Notebooks and Python for advanced analytical modeling.
  • Strong data visualization skills with the ability to explain complex results clearly.
  • Capable of applying a mix of the following skill areas:
      • Mathematics, Computational, Statistical Foundations
      • Data Management and Workflow Reproducibility
      • Modeling, Inference, and Domain-specific Analysis
  • Experience with large-scale National Agency data, including noise, variability, and signal interpretation.
  • Familiarity with machine learning, algorithm development, and statistical testing methods.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work across disciplines and teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in TechSIGINT, SIGDEV, or RF-based intelligence (HF, VHF, UHF, SATCOM).
  • Previous experience as an analyst, targeter, or discovery analyst in the IC.
  • Experience delivering polished briefings to diverse audiences.

Education and Experience:
  • Master's degree with 8 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree with 10 years of relevant experience
  • Associate's degree with 12 years of relevant experience

Clearance Requirement:
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance to be considered for this role .
