Position Description:
CGI is actively seeking a BI Engineer/Analyst who will take charge in planning and executing advanced data analytics projects and initiatives that drive strategic impact. This role demands strong interaction with stakeholders to ensure project completion and influential participation in cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will confidently serve as a subject matter expert within their specific areas of responsibility.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Utilizes advanced functionality of SQL, Power BI, Snowflake, Sigma, Python, SSIS and/or Business Objects to perform data mining and automation. Extracts and houses data from internal systems for use in strategic analysis.
Implement Kimball methodology and develops data feeds as sources for PEO wide Reporting teams.
Builds and designs visual tools such as dashboards and reports to assist management in quickly understanding current business trends.
Builds positive relationships and develops reports and data feeds for Clients.
Leads and executes all phases of quantitative research projects by identifying the business problem, conducting data exploration, modeling and communication of final results to leadership across the company to create insightful analytical results that drive strategic decision making in the company.
Utilizes financial and operational systems to retrieve and analyze data, perform complex research, interpret findings that have financial impact and draw appropriate conclusions, and develop and publish financial reports to support business unit decisions and performance results.
Involved in significant company initiatives which may include product and system development, implementation of new business processes or control enhancements, and performance of due diligence procedures for acquired companies.
Functions as a subject matter expert in position specific processes and/or responsibility areas.
Develops collaborative working relationships with all business partners to ensure a high level of utilization of team services for departmental needs.
Meets regularly with the leadership team to report status of reporting requests, present analysis results, and to discuss opportunities for improvements within operations.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
3 years of experience in databases, Data warehousing, data mining, or analytical environment.
2 years of experience in using one or more of the following: SQL, Snowflake, and/or Oracle.
3 years of experience in strategically problem-solve using advanced quantitative and analytical skills.
2 years of experience with reporting in one or more of the following: PowerBI, SSRS, Sigma, and/or MicroStrategy.
Other helpful experience with: SSIS, Python, Kafka, Informer.
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $50,000.00 - $80,000.00.
