Position Description:

Join us as a Nuclear Weapons Maintenance Support Specialist, where your expertise will ensure the operational readiness and safety of the nation's nuclear weapons. Your role is critical in maintaining the reliability of our nuclear deterrent.

This position is located in Albuquerque, NM.

The objective of this program is to procure support services to maintain and manage nuclear stockpile related data and materials data in support of the Nuclear Enterprise Directorate, Nuclear Logistics & Operations Department (NE-NL) of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). This project requires dedicated and disciplined personnel who shall serve as DTRAs "trusted agent," both internally and externally, in support of DTRA NE-NL.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Support the management of the Limited Life Component (LLC) program, evaluate stockpile data, and develop LLC distribution schedules. Interface with transportation planners and assist in policy development. Prepare technical procedures and support maintenance managers.

The objective of this requirement is to procure support services to maintain and manage nuclear stockpile related data and materials data in support of the Nuclear Enterprise Directorate, Nuclear Logistics & Operations Department (NE-NL) of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). This project requires dedicated and disciplined personnel who shall serve as DTRAs "trusted agent," both internally and externally, in support of DTRA NE-NL.

Provide Nuclear Weapons Maintenance Support. This requirement includes, but is not limited to, providing administrative and technical support for the NE-NL Logistics & Maintenance Division, Maintenance Branch (NE-NLMM). Specific requirements include:
- Aiding the DoD Executive Agent for nuclear weapons Limited Life Component (LLC) management program.
- Assisting in the management of the LLC and alternation (Alt) kit definitions for each defined configuration and associated Group X base spare kits.
- Evaluating nuclear weapon stockpile data for publications.
- Recommending changes/additions/deletions to nuclear weapons maintenance policy and guidance in conjunction with Joint Chiefs of Staff, DTRA, Military Services and Combatant Commanders policies.
- Preparing time critical (emergent) technical procedures when safety, reliability, or operational concerns are paramount.
- Assisting in the formulation of the DoD position on matters relating to the nuclear weapons LLC program management and supply matters.
- Assisting NL weapons maintenance Managers on preproduction planning, evaluation, proofing, and introduction of LLCs, containers, and equipment for nuclear weapons systems and associated operations.
- Capable of independently providing backup for Department Maintenance Support Managers. - Requires ability to review, research and interpret higher level DoD and DOE directives and documents and incorporate them into JNWPS technical procedures.
- Possess extensive knowledge of DoD nuclear weapon general maintenance and LLC exchange actions along with tie-down/transport/transfer procedures; capable of discussing procedures, policies, and practices with use community from a position of experience. weapons in DoD custody for LLC expiration dates and creating fiscal year-based LLC utilization schedules.
- Developing monthly LLC distribution requirements and providing to DTRA, Federal LLC manager, and as required to the NNSA NA-122.1 LLC Manager.
- Evaluating and preparing LLC schedule change requests as received from Military Services or NNSA NA-122.1 LLC Manager.
- Interpreting, advising, and performing in compliance with DoD policy for LLC management.
- Assisting the Nuclear Transportation Working Group (NTWG) Executive Secretary to establish semi- annual meeting, creating announcements, updating agenda, tracking action items, and facilitating meeting.
- Interfacing with the Office of Secure Transportation (OST) mission planners and Military Services for air and ground LLC, weapon, and other major assembly (OMA) transportation requirements.
- Reviewing processes dealing with additions/modifications/repairs of nuclear weapons, nuclear weapons maintenance support equipment, and/or associated nuclear weapons test and handling equipment.
- Assisting in the management of the Joint Nuclear Weapons System (JNWPS) policy development process through researching, developing, preparing, coordinating for comments/approval, maintaining source data, and ensuring appropriate distribution of technical

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Clearance Required: Current DoD TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility.
o 6 years of performing similar requirements and a BA/BS degree. 8 years of demonstrated experience with a High School Diploma.
o DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency)
o DTRA (Defense Threat Reduction Agency) experience required
o Extensive knowledge of nuclear weapons maintenance and LLC management.
o Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret DoD and DOE directives.
o Experience in preparing time-critical technical procedures.
o Ability to interface with the Office of Secure Transportation and Military Services.
o Capable of independently providing backup for Department Maintenance Support Managers.

Education Requirement: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Physics, Nuclear Science, or a related field and 6 years of relevant experience, or a HS Diploma with 8 years of relevant experience.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $140,600.00 - $180,000.00.
