Description
The Defense & Intelligence Group at Leidos has a career opportunity for a non- secure Voice Specialist in support of the Air Force National Capital Region (AFNCR) IT Services program. The AFNCR IT Services program provides support for information systems for the Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other Air Force activities within the AFNCR missions to include the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), and other locations, leased spaces, and alternate sites. The major support areas are: IT Operations and Maintenance; Plans, Projects, and Engineering (PP&E). The senior leaders and national defense missions that are supported require that the AFNCR operations never fail, resulting in a fast-paced, challenging, but also rewarding environment.
The Voice Staff will provide non-secure telephone capability and support by coordinating Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) , Integrated Services Digital Network ( ISDN), and Analog telephone service requests and account management activities for all non-secure phone equipment. We work with the government and provide billing support and processing to the 844th Communications Group, 844th Communications squadron, and the Unit Resource Advisor’s (URA).

Pay Range: Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00

Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the ordering, provisioning, and maintenance of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), and analog telephone services, including equipment installations, moves, adds, changes (MACs), and fault isolation.
- Perform limited external maintenance, equipment configuration, software updates, and end-user training to ensure effective telecommunications services across the AFNCR.
- Provide full-spectrum telephone service program management and customer support for non-secure voice, data, and telecom services as a subject matter expert.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for coordinating service requests and account management with regional and enterprise-level telephone service providers.
- Submit, monitor, and manage requests for telecommunication services, non-secure telephony equipment, and related circuit provisioning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex or ambiguous technical issues, often requiring engagement with external agencies and service providers.
- Collaborate and communicate with key stakeholders, including the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and the Joint Service Provider (JSP), to address and resolve enterprise-level telecom concerns.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff members within the voice/data/telecom group, offering technical guidance and support for professional development.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and a minimum of 3 years of experience in telecommunications or IT support; additional years of experience or training may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.
- Current CompTIA Security+ certification (DoD 8570 compliant).
- Hands-on experience with VoIP technologies and systems.
- Familiarity with IT service management tools such as ServiceNow and/or Remedy.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications systems, including circuit provisioning and MAC processes.
- Experience working within Department of Defense (DoD) or similar federal environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently and collaborate across multiple teams.
- Experience providing technical training or support to end-users.
- Familiarity with telecommunications circuit types and wiring standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a military command or operations center, particularly an Air Force Communications Focal Point (CFP).
- Knowledge of The Air Force, Pentagon, and/or AFNCR
- Experience working in the National Capital Region (The Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), and Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable discussing technical information with users and other support personnel.
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as an integral member of a team.
