Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking candidates for the position of Design Engineering Manager 2 to support advanced technology development programs. This position is on site in Linthicum, MD or our Annapolis Junction, MD location.
This position requires work onsite in either Linthicum, MD or Annapolis Junction, MD facilities.
What You'll Get to Do
This is a dual-role manager/circuit design position. Management duties include supporting, developing, and tasking engineering staff; developing engineering process; and providing resources to meet program needs. The manager will also perform technical work on programs. The split between technical and functional management duties will be approximately 80% technical /20% functional, on average. The direct program work may include circuit design, technical leadership, or other direct support of a program.

Salary Range: $123,400.00 - $185,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Roles and responsibilities include some or all the following:
- Lead a team of 6-10 technical staff in management role. Administrative management responsibilities include staffing, performance and compensation management, and career development.
- Execute in a direct contributor or technical leadership role supporting MDA programs.
- Responsible for labor and material execution through cost account management (CAM) assignments.
- Partner with program management to track execution and provide technical leadership to the team.
- Ensure proper engineering processes and procedures are followed.
- Work with peers and training leads to identify critical skill shortfalls; develop appropriate technical training; and improve team performance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree with 8+ years' relevant experience (or Master of Science degree with 6 years of relevant experience; PhD with 4 years of relevant experience) within a related engineering field.
- Design experience in RF, analog, digital, or mixed signal integrated circuits (ICs).
- Strong leadership qualities, including excellent communication and collaboration, team engagement, and organizational skills.
- This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. Citizen.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance per customers' requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in STEM, Business Management, Engineering Leadership, or equivalent.
- 9 years of experience in a multi-disciplined science/engineering environment.
- Experience leading teams in RF, analog, digital, or mixed signal design at IC or board-level.
- Solid understanding of circuit design theory; hands-on circuit design or verification experience.
- Proficient in the use of commercial CAD software (Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics) in the design, layout, or verification of Monolithic Microwave (MMIC) or Application Specific (ASIC) integrated circuits.
- Basic understanding of IC manufacturing and testing processes.
- Active U.S. Government security clearance.
