Sr Network Engineer (RedSeal)

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Engineer (RedSeal) to join a National Security Contract located in Chantilly, VA through 100% full onsite presence . The Senior Network Engineer (RedSeal) will focus on expanding network modeling for various devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and cloud-based virtual network components within software-defined networking (SDN) environments. The Senior Network Engineer (RedSeal) will analyze network traffic, optimize cybersecurity tools, and implement security protocols.

Responsibilities of the Senior Network Engineer (RedSeal) include:

• Network Modeling & Security Enhancement: Analyze routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, and virtual devices to expand RedSeal's security analytics
• Access & Policy Management: Research network features like VRF, MPLS VPN, IPSec VPN and NAT, ensuring accurate access control modeling
• Collaborative Development: Work closely with engineers to design, implement, and integrate network device plugins into RedSeal
• Cybersecurity Operations Support: Troubleshoot security performance, fine-tune IDS/IPS configurations, and improve threat detection
• System Administration & Engineering Support: Maintain firewalls, SIEM tools, and cloud security configurations while ensuring compliance with NIST security frameworks
• Automation & Process Improvement: Develop scripts for automating security workflows, optimizing cybersecurity efficiency
• Customer Engagement & Technical Support: Assist with onboarding, troubleshooting, and updates for security tools and RedSeal configurations

Qualifications of the Senior Network Engineer (RedSeal) include:

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering, focusing on routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and cloud security
• Hands-on knowledge of network protocols (VRF, MPLS VPN, IPSec VPN, NAT), software-defined networking (SDN), and RedSeal security analytics
• Ability to deploy, optimize, and troubleshoot cybersecurity tools like Splunk, ArcSight, Snort, or other security monitoring systems
• Familiar with AWS cloud technologies, Linux scripting, and automating cybersecurity workflows using Python, Go, Java, or Node
• Strong understanding of NIST security guidelines and enterprise best practices
• IAT Level II Cert: Sec+, GSEC, SSCP, or CCNA
• Active TS/SCI Clearance with CI Poly

Compensation for the Senior Network Engineer (RedSeal)r includes:

• Salary Range: $130,000-$140,000 **depending on experience**
