As an Aeronautical Engineer with the Strategic Reentry Programs Aerothermal team team you will provide support to various missile programs. You will support multiple team's performance related to the modeling and simulation of hypersonic flight vehicles. You generally will work in a small, fast moving team on concept-level vehicle analysis, study of hypersonic thermodynamics, as well as the design of proposed experimental hardware and instrumentation.
Other Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Have an understanding of a variety of heat transfer phenomena, including conduction, convection, and thermal radiation
- Perform analyses related to missile launch vehicle systems, re-entry bodies, and hypersonic glide vehicles using various modeling and simulation methods and analytical techniques
- Provide recommendations to data packages to support peer and customer reviews
- Develop codes that streamline the analysis flow process and contribute additional analysis capability
Basic Qualifications:
• Master or Bachelor Degree with applicable experience in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or other related Engineering.
• Background or course experience in any of the following: heat transfer, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, or Finite Element Analysis.'
• Matlab or other higher-level programming language experience.
• Ability to perform in a team environment.
• At least an active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a TOP SECRET.
Desired Skills:
• Technical background in missile/reentry/hypersonic analysis and design.
• Experience in thermal analysis/design.
• Experience in ground testing.
• Experience with flight data reduction and analysis.
• Current Top Secret

These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
