The Data Infrastructure Engineer to lead a multidisciplinary team in designing, developing, and administering advanced solutions for large Defense Business Systems. This role demands exceptional technical expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking to define features, drive solution architectures, and establish best practices. The Senior Engineer will collaborate with key stakeholders, including Government Leads, solution architects, and data professionals, to create a scalable framework that accelerates data driven insights across the Army enterprise.
Leadership and Management: Oversee and manage day-to-day tasks among a team of IT professionals, ensuring alignment with project timelines and priorities. Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on team progress, challenges, and deliverables. Mentor team members, fostering professional growth and ensuring adherence to best practices and project guidelines.
Technical Architecture and Development: Lead the design and development of system interfaces between the Army's enterprise data platforms and distributed authoritative data sources across DoD networks. Architect and optimize data pipelines to support advanced analytics workflows, ETL processes, and real-time data streaming. Build and maintain a trusted data foundation to support scalable, distributed systems.
Documentation and Governance: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation to enable platform maintenance and ensure effective knowledge sharing. Ensure compliance with data governance frameworks and DoD standards, including data protection for sensitive information.
Process Improvement and Innovation: Conduct infrastructure reviews, identifying opportunities for optimization and innovation in IT architecture. Drive high impact technology decisions related to IaaS/PaaS providers, container orchestration, API gateways, and opensource vs. commercial software solutions.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with technical and nontechnical stakeholders to translate functional requirements into actionable technical solutions. Facilitate discovery and design sessions to determine the best solution requirements and approaches. Collaborate with diverse technical delivery teams to develop service based architectures that scale effectively and drive innovation.

Education and Requirements:
Senior Level
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in network architecture and engineering within a DoD or government environment.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent and/or CompTIA Security+ CE.
Journeyman Level
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 5+ Years of experience
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate.
Junior Level
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- 3+ Years of experience
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
Current and active Secret security clearance.
