Clearance Required: DoD Secret Security Clearance preferred. Candidates possessing strong qualifications, but without a clearance may be considered on a case-by-case basis
Work Schedule: Day shift, Monday-Friday

Position Summary:
Aegis Aerospace is currently seeking a Facilities Cost Estimator to join our team supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will:

• Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for facility renovation, sustainment, and modernization projects.
• Present estimates to managers, clients, or other interested parties.
• Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
• Prepare reports or bids that detail the cost breakdown.
• Estimate the cost of equipment or materials to be bought or leased.
• Adjust estimates based on changing market conditions, price fluctuations, and other economic factors.
• Keep track of the latest industry trends and pricing to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be a US citizen
• Must have, or obtain, an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Must have at least 8 years of general experience
• Must have at least 4 years of direct experience as a cost estimator
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, design plans, and specifications
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong math and research skills
• Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines
• Proficient in RSMeans (or similar) and MS Office

Desired Qualifications:

• Current, active DoD Secret Security Clearance or above
• BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field
• Professional certification in cost estimation or project management is a plus
• Understand Earned Value Management
• Familiar with MS Project and financial systems

Compensation:

• Salary Range: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 annually. Final compensation is based on experience, education, and directly relevant certifications.
