AV / Projector Technician
Location: Fort Lee, Virginia

Description:
HigherEchelon is seeking an AV / Projector Technician responsible for maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting audiovisual (AV) equipment in over 800 CASCOM classrooms. The role supports projection systems, interactive displays, sound systems, and related controls essential to Army training delivery across the Ordnance, Quartermaster, and Transportation Schools and the Army Logistics University. The position is based at Fort Gregg-Adams, VA, and requires a full-time, on-site presence with an active DoD Secret clearance.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain, configure, and calibrate projectors, smartboards, speakers, and other AV gear used in training classrooms.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance to prevent disruptions during training sessions.
Respond to AV-related service tickets, including system reboots, hardware replacement, and signal tracing.
Collaborate with Digital Training Facility Technicians and VTC Technicians to support complex AV environments.
Track and document AV inventory, cable runs, mounts, and ceiling-installed hardware across classrooms.
Recommend equipment upgrades and enhancements based on age, failure rates, or compatibility issues.
Provide instructor support for AV system use during setup and troubleshooting.
Coordinate repair or replacement logistics for damaged or malfunctioning devices.
Required Skills:
Familiarity with projectors, HDMI/VGA cabling, display control panels, and sound amplification systems.
Basic understanding of video and audio signal flow and troubleshooting best practices.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have a Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
Prior work supporting TRADOC classrooms or federal training environments.
Experience with Army classroom AV standards and secure AV device handling.
Familiarity with ceiling-mount installations, cable routing, and physical infrastructure layouts.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent; technical training in electronics or AV systems preferred.
3+ years of experience installing and maintaining AV equipment in classroom, conference, or command environments.
Certifications required:
CompTIA Security+ (IAT Level II baseline; current)
AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) or similar AV industry certification is highly desirable.
