Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conducts audits to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, identify areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risks
- Ensure the integrity and efficiency of operations by conducting thorough audits and providing valuable insights to improve internal processes
- Perform audits of IT systems, applications, and processes to assess compliance with security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements, such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, and PCI DSS
- Develop audit plans, conduct interviews, review documentation, and analyze data to identify potential risks and control gaps
- Assist in conducting risk assessments to identify and evaluate cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities
- Analyze the potential impact and likelihood of identified risks and contribute to the development of risk mitigation strategies and action plans
- Develop and execute test plans to evaluate the effectiveness of security controls
- Validate the configuration and operation of security tools and technologies
- Assess the adequacy of security awareness training and incident response procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, cybersecurity, computer science, or related field or 4 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree
- 4+ years of experience with 2+ years of position-specific relevant experience.
- Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and regulations (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2).
- Experience conducting IT audits and control testing. Knowledge of common security technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems, endpoint security)
Desired Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in IT audit, cybersecurity audit, or a related field.
- Master's degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CISSP, CISM)
- Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must have an active Interim Secret with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
