Pay Range

$124,200 - $188,880 Annually

$124,200 - $157,464 Annually for the TSS.2 level
$148,920 - $188,880 Annually for the TSS.3 level

This is the lowest to highest salary in good faith we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Pay will not be below any applicable local minimum wage. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Job Description

We have an opening for an Operations Technical Facility Analyst. As part of the SD Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring all reporting is created on time and accurately reflects performance while working to structure, build, and implement process improvements across the organization. You will support customer requests, reporting requirements, and drive strategic initiatives focused on process development, technical reliability, and performance improvement. This position is in Operations within the Strategic Deterrence (SD) Directorate.

This position may offer a hybrid schedule, which includes the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week, after a probationary period. The specifics of the hybrid schedule, including the exact number of days required in the office and virtual work options, may vary based on the needs of the team and the organization.

This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.

In this role, you will
  • Develop a strong understanding of the business processes impacting Strategic Deterrence Operations, collaborate with teams across operations, including Facilities, management, and technical teams.
  • Analyze complex structured and unstructured datasets to support Strategic Deterrence initiatives, providing insights that inform decision-making and policy development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data collection systems to centralize data and develop process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work within database systems such as Oracle APEX and FileMaker Pro to import, manage, and retrieve data requested by relevant teams. Database development and updates may be required as well.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations using various visualization and reporting tools to communicate findings and trends to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accessibility of data.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations that summarize analytical findings and recommendations for senior leadership and external partners.
  • Stay current with advancements in data analysis techniques and tools, applying best practices to improve data integrity and analytical capabilities.
  • Research, analyze, draft, and complete plans to advance the organization; collect and analyze information from various sources to create and update recurring reports using Microsoft O365 tools such as: Excel, Power Point, Project, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Partner with the SD/LLNL Software and Application Development teams to create real-time availability of data for internal and external use.
  • Develop process and procedure documentation, flow charts, and other necessary documentation to map all interfaces, inputs, outputs, and processes.
  • Communicate regularly with management on issues, constraints, and project status.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional job responsibilities, at the TSS.3
  • Serve as a technical project leader, responsible for all aspects of the process improvement projects including collaborating with customers (OPS teams) and execution of deliverables.
  • Identify and implement process and procedure improvement to increase team planning and management efficiency.
  • Manage end-to-end lifecycle of any specific process or project, including strategy development, planning, execution, monitoring, and optimization. Ensures alignment with organizational goals, drives cross-functional collaboration, and delivers measurable outcomes while maintaining quality, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, develop strategic solutions, and lead implementation efforts to enhance efficiency and drive organizational success.


Qualifications

  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technical field or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Experience configuring and testing database development (i.e. SQL, Microsoft 365, Oracle APEX, FileMaker Pro, etc.).
  • Demonstrated knowledge in data centralization and migration processes, including planning, executing, and optimizing the transfer of data across systems while ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Strong understanding of data preparation, structure and manipulation and ability to build automated processes using tools or coding languages such as Tableau Prep, Python, and Alteryx.
  • Experience in the usage of report information and graphing generation and the ability to continually improve reporting capabilities to meet the needs and requirements of the client (i.e. Tableau, PowerBI, MicroStrategy, Python, R, etc.).
  • Experience working across multiple organizations and groups to lead projects to successful completion.
  • Experience leading the analysis and design of complex operational business processes; designing; and implementing strategies for complex improvements.
  • Experience developing business process documentation and training materials and training staff on those processes.
  • Advanced skills and experience in Microsoft tools - Excel, SharePoint, Word, Power Point, Project, and Visio.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively, independently and as a team member.
  • Experience training/mentoring team members on complex technical directions and new data systems requirements.
  • Driven and self-motivated learner that can adapt to changing requirements and learn new skillsets as needed.

Additional qualifications at the TSS.3 level
  • Demonstrated experience working in the Data Analytics career field.
  • Proficient in Tableau, PowerBI, MicroStrategy, Python, R, or other similar reporting tools.
  • Proficient in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis, with experience in writing complex queries to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficient in developing and optimizing data models using tools such as SQL, Python, or R, with a strong understanding of relational and non-relational database systems.

Qualifications We Desire
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple high-priority requests and small to mid-sized projects at once.
  • Experience developing integrated strategies for process improvements and partnering with stakeholders to create long term strategies for improved processes.
  • Experience developing integrated data analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decisions.

Security Clearance

This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance.
