Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining the integrity and consistency of software and hardware systems throughout their entire lifecycle
- Possess a deep understanding of configuration management principles, coupled with a strong grasp of software development and IT infrastructure
- Support the Lead Configuration Management Engineer in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of configuration management processes and tools, ensuring that all changes to systems are tracked, documented, and validated
- Includes developing and enforcing configuration management standards, automating configuration processes, and managing configuration baselines, with adherence to industry frameworks such as the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and quality assurance, to ensure that configuration management practices are integrated into the overall development and deployment pipeline
- They possess a strong understanding of version control systems, and build automation tools and CI/CD pipelines
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or 4 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree
- 9+ years of experience. 5+ years of position-specific relevant experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in implementing and managing configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef, SaltStack).
- Strong understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN). Experience with build automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Maven, Gradle), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Relevant configuration management certifications (e.g., Puppet Professional, Chef Certification).
- ITIL Foundation certification.
- Familiarity with architectural frameworks, including the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash). Experience with configuration management in a regulated environment (e.g., SOX, HIPAA).
- Experience with agile-informed and Scrum methodologies.
- Advanced configuration management certifications, Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer), and Certified ScrumMaster.
- Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must have an active Interim S with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Physical Requirements:
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
