SALARY RANGE: $220-250K
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong networking background to support the design, development, integration, and optimization of complex mission systems. This role requires deep technical expertise, hands-on experience in large-scale systems engineering, and a solid foundation in networking technologies and distributed storage architectures.
This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with a current polygraph.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Seventeen (17) years of experience as a Systems Engineer supporting programs of similar scope, complexity, and mission impact. Experience should include both strategic design and hands-on implementation in networked systems
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related technical field from an accredited institution
• Certifications:
○ Must hold an IAT Level I or higher certification (e.g., A+, Network+, Security+)
○ Security+ is strongly preferred
Key Responsibilities:
• Define and document system performance, availability, scalability, manageability, and security requirements for mid-to-large scale enterprise systems
• Lead or support agile and spiral development processes, ensuring engineering objectives align with program goals
• Design and implement secure, policy-compliant systems, integrating COTS and GOTS products across multiple vendors and platforms
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, training materials, and issue resolutions for users and stakeholders
• Optimize data systems for high-throughput, distributed storage, retrieval, and backup, including text and multimedia formats
• Engineer and deploy storage area networks (SANs), data warehouses, data marts, and related technologies
• Implement and refine cloud-based or clustered storage solutions, with attention to performance, reliability, and compliance
• Collaborate within cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to drive system integration and ensure mission success
• Research and implement distributed storage, routing and querying algorithms, leveraging technologies like HDFS, Hadoop, HBase, and Accumulo (BigTable)
Desired Qualifications:
• Strong background in network systems engineering, with a clear understanding of data routing, security, and optimization
• Experience in the integration of COTS and GOTS tools into enterprise-level solutions
• Deep understanding of distributed storage architectures and their application in national security environments
• Familiarity with legal, policy, and compliance directives that influence secure system design
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines and stakeholders
