Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Software Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will lead the support of advanced systems, focusing on full life-cycle software deployment, optimization, maintenance, and user support. You will work alongside multidisciplinary teams to develop scalable, high-performance software solutions supporting mission-critical applications.
This position allows for a hybrid schedule but requires candidates to be local to the MD or Northern VA/DC Metro area. This position will involve reporting to onsite 2-3 times per week to Columbia, MD.

Salary Range: $108,700.00 - $190,200.00

Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Software Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will lead the support of advanced systems, focusing on full life-cycle software deployment, optimization, maintenance, and user support. You will work alongside multidisciplinary teams to develop scalable, high-performance software solutions supporting mission-critical applications.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Optimize and visualize database performance, data modeling, and processing for large-scale applications.
- Design and build dashboards, reports, and interactive visualizations.
- Assist in integration of software capabilities within DOD environments.
- Collaborate with software and devops engineers, UX designers, system architects, AI/ML engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Implement microservices-based architectures using containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Assist with development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
- Conduct peer code reviews, implement unit and integration testing, and ensure documentation for all required components.
- Utilize Agile/Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies for efficient software development.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Must be a US Citizen and active TS clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Bachelor degree in software engineering, computer science, or related technology field. 4 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience and experience with developing, integrating and deploying software in a DoD environment.
- Strong programming skills and experience with Python and/or Java.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and automation tools (e.g., GitLab CI/CD).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS & Azure).
- Working in Agile and experience with Atlassian tools, including JIRA and Confluence.
- Strong communication skills to interface with stakeholders and end users.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Experience designing, developing and deploying dashboards and reports using the Elastic stack, including Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana and Beats.
- Experience with data Visualization and dashboards. Support the creation of Kibana visualizations and dashboards using React & JavaScript.
- Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Graphana).
- Familiarity or working knowledge of AI/ML solutions and integrations.
