Job Description
BAE Systems is looking for a User Interface (UI/UX) Designer to join our team in Washington, DC.
UI/UX designers work on how to improve users' satisfaction by improving the interface usability. UI/UX designers work on language and visual input to translate the application's purpose into a sophisticated, smooth, easy to use applications. The UI/UX designer will select colors and font, positioning the page's element to quickly and immediately communicate information for the user. UI/UX designer will ensure 508 compliance of the user interface.
The UI/UX designer will work closely with the Business Analyst and Customer to come up with wireframes for user stories in the back log before they are pulled into a development sprint. UI/UX designer will help the team by minimizing the time a developer spends designing screens he/she will also help in getting the requirements to a more complete state to minimize rework.
Tasks:
• Research user habit and issues; interface with users, BA, and POs
• Reduce user pain points, simplify design elements, write content in plain language
• Develop mockup of the website and interfaces utilizing best practices to ensure maximum usability
• Create interface elements such as menus, tabs, and other fields using design templates and UI Libraries
• Testing and troubleshooting user experience issues
• Collaborate with Business Team to incorporate business needs into the design
• Develop style guide
• Design common component libraries

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115779 - $196825
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtin and maintain Federal Public Trust
- 5+ years' experience as a UI/UX expert supporting projects with complex user interfaces
- 508 compliance testing and design
- Experience with projects that have been written in Angular 2+
- Expertise in wireframe tasks and tools
- Aware of design trends, best practices, and tools
- Skilled in VISIO, InVision, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Sketch, and others
- In-depth knowledge of common coding languages like HTML, XML, JavaScript, and others
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
- Experience with AWS
- Experience using Jira, Confluence
Pay Information
