Position Summary

The Program Manager (PM) is responsible for leading all aspects of the assigned projects, including scope schedule and budget management. This role requires leadership experience and oversight of site leads, managers, UAS operators and support personnel to ensure effective execution of project objectives. The PM plans and manages assigned projects in accordance with approved Company Directives, department procedures and approved Project Execution Plans. The PM is responsible for coordinating support requirements with the HQ functional staff (finance, HR, contracts, etc). The PM is accountable for delivering scheduled briefings on Program/Project status/progress that clearly explain progress, cost or schedule variances, and critical performance information. The PM is responsible for updating and maintaining all associated records involved with the program/project. The PM is also responsible for the oversight of any sub-contractors assigned or employed on the Program/Project.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for developing, coordinating and executing plans for assigned projects and programs
  • Instrumental in the development of scope, cost and schedule
  • Ensures compliance with corporate policies and Code of Business Ethics on all assigned projects
  • Lead the organization in the development of cost effective and innovative customer solutions
  • Manage proposal efforts in the role of a Capture Manager
  • Manage business activities IAW an approved Project Plan
  • Manage multiple overhead and project-specific schedules and budgets
  • Ensure projects are within specification, measured against cost, schedule and performance
  • Prepare and conduct scheduled Program/Project status briefings
  • Maintain positive communications with customers, subcontractors and develop customer relations strategies
  • Develop organizational depth through subordinate leader mentoring, performance management, professional development and succession planning

(This position will require approximately 25-50% travel both internationally and to our main training facility in Moyock, NC.)

Qualifications
  • Must have 5 years experience and background in Unmanned Systems Operations
  • Must have experience as an instructor and/or have developed training programs for the DoD
  • Must have working knowledge of major UAS systems (cameras, motors, frequency, radios)
  • Must have specific background in UAS operations and is familiar with part 107, COA and flight operations/safety
  • Must understand various contractual documents such as NDA, MOU and MSA
  • Must have at least 5 years experience in Program Management with responsibilities in P&L
  • Must be able to develop and/or understand metrics based requirements and KPIs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to lead in-house and multi-company teams across multiple functional areas
  • Strong financial background with understanding of Firm Fixed Price vs T&M contracts, revenue, expense, indirect, labor and contribution margin
  • Ideal candidate is an energetic, results-oriented performer with high growth potential
  • Demonstrated record of excellence, leading geographically separated project teams/ units in the Government services and commercial sector
  • Decisive; able to make critical business decisions often with incomplete information and within a compressed timeline
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree-preferably in a business related field
  • Ability to travel internationally; willingness to conduct site visits to austere and potentially hostile locations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite


Preferred Qualifications
  • Military experience
  • Specific past experience with FPV drones
  • Private Pilot License
  • Experience as a UAS Instructor
  • Advanced degree
  • PMP certification
  • Strongly prefer somebody who has a significant technology background such as network engineer or electronics engineering
  • Specific background in SUAS aircraft and technologies such as cameras, communications and power management

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are Monday-Friday standard core hours, however some extended or weekend hours may be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.
