Title: Business Analyst

Location: Remote

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to spearhead a comprehensive system modernization initiative. This role involves analyzing and documenting current ("as-is") and future ("to-be") business processes, designing process flows and workflows, defining security roles, conducting user interviews, collaborating with development and QA teams, documenting Jira stories, and creating user documentation and demonstrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Analysis & Documentation:
    • Conduct thorough assessments of existing business processes ("as-is").
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to design optimized future-state processes ("to-be").
    • Develop detailed process flow diagrams and business workflows using tools like Microsoft Visio or Lucidchart.
    • Identify and document system constraints, implications, and consequences of proposed changes.
  • Security Role Definition:
    • Work with security teams to define and document user roles and access controls.
    • Ensure alignment of security roles with business requirements and compliance standards.
  • User Engagement & Requirements Elicitation:
    • Interview end-users and key stakeholders to gather functional and non-functional requirements.
    • Facilitate workshops, Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions, and other methods to elicit requirements.
    • Analyze and document business rules, policies, and data requirements.
  • Collaboration with Development & QA Teams:
    • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
    • Collaborate with development teams to ensure requirements are understood and implemented.
    • Work with QA teams to develop test cases and facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Jira Story Documentation:
    • Translate business requirements into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
    • Manage and prioritize the product backlog in Jira.
    • Ensure traceability of requirements through the development lifecycle.
  • Documentation & User Demos:
    • Create comprehensive user documentation, including manuals and guides.
    • Develop and deliver user demonstrations and training sessions.
    • Maintain up-to-date documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on system modernization.
  • Proficiency in process modeling tools such as Microsoft Visio or Lucidchart.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in defining and implementing security roles and access controls.
  • Familiarity with user experience (UX) design principles.
  • Knowledge of industry compliance standards and regulations.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
