Tyto Athene is searching for a Senior Cloud Strategy Lead to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.
The Senior Cloud Strategy Lead develops and leads enterprise-wide cloud strategy, ensuring alignment with Department of Defense (DoD) goals and USSOUTHCOM mission requirements. This senior-level role focuses on cloud adoption planning, governance, architecture alignment, and continuous innovation across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the enterprise cloud strategy, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS integration
- Lead strategic planning for migration of legacy systems and applications to cloud platforms, ensuring performance, security, and compliance with DoD regulations
- Serve as the primary liaison between senior leadership, cybersecurity, engineering, and mission stakeholders to ensure alignment with cloud policies and capabilities
- Define cloud governance frameworks, including cost optimization, access control, and resource provisioning standards
- Assess and select appropriate cloud service providers and technologies that meet mission, scalability, and compliance needs
- Provide direction and oversight for cloud modernization projects, including zero-trust architecture, DevSecOps integration, and infrastructure automation
- Monitor and evaluate evolving DoD cloud mandates, including JWCC, DISA initiatives, and FedRAMP compliance
- Mentor and guide cloud engineers, architects, and platform teams
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience inIT leadership, with 5+ years in cloud architecture, migration, or cloud operations within a DoD or federal environment
- Strong understanding of DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (SRG) and Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability (JWCC)
- Proven experience leading enterprise-scale cloud transformations (Azure, AWS, GCP - Azure preferred for DoD)
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments, DevSecOps pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC)
Desired:
- Master's degree in related field
- Familiarity with Zero Trust principles and identity federation.
- Cloud Security certifications
- VMware Certified Advance Professional
- ITILv4 Foundations
- CompTIA Cloud+
Clearance:
- Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
Certification:
- DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
- CompTIA Security+ CE
- CISSP or CASP+
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent
