Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to serve as Finance Director. This strategic leadership role is responsible for ensuring the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the organization. The Finance Director will oversee all aspects of financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance, while aligning financial operations with the company's long-term objectives.
Reporting directly to the Vice President, the Finance Director collaborates closely with executive leadership to shape and execute financial strategies that promote sustainable growth and operational excellence. This role includes leading and mentoring the finance team, managing fiscal risk, enhancing financial systems and processes, and providing strategic insight into budgeting and resource allocation.
The Finance Director also plays a key role in business development efforts by supporting proposal pricing strategies and cost volume preparation. They will ensure compliance with government cost and pricing regulations, contributing to the submission of competitive and compliant proposals that support the company's growth within the federal contracting space.
Skills / Experience Required
Skills/experience required for the Director of Finance:
* Active TS/SCI clearance
* 10+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, including 5+ years in a leadership role
* In-depth knowledge of federal government contracting regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
* Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic financial planning
* Extensive experience with various contract types, including Time & Materials (T&M), Firm Fixed Price (FFP), and Cost-Plus
* Direct experience supporting DoD proposals, including pricing strategy, cost volume development, and compliance with government regulations
* Experienced with accounting and ERP systems such as Deltech, Unanet, QuickBooks, or similar platforms
* Strong experience with audit readiness, internal controls, and financial compliance
* Ability to analyze complex financial data and deliver clear, actionable insights to senior leadership
* Strong leadership and team development skills, with a proven record of effective cross-functional collaboration
* Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities
* High attention to detail, with a strong commitment to accuracy, integrity, and timely financial reporting
Education / Certifications
Education required for the Director of Finance:
* Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
