Key Responsibilities:
• Create and update engaging web and multimedia content using modern web design best practices and content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress or Drupal.
• Edit and refine content and imagery using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat) and related tools.
• Develop and maintain presentation materials, technical illustrations, posters, and online learning modules.
• Collaborate with researchers to distill complex scientific and technical information into clear, accessible content.
• Perform quality assurance (QA) checks on web and digital content to ensure high standards of functionality and accuracy.
• Manage content change requests and ensure adherence to branding and design standards.
• Restructure or hand-code HTML templates when necessary, applying responsive design principles and table-based layouts.
• Support educational initiatives by building and editing content for platforms like Open edX.
• Coordinate outreach events such as LLSC’s “Lunch-n-Learn” sessions and conferences.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a technical, communication, or design field).
Minimum of 1 year of experience in:
• Graphic Design (e.g., poster design, technical illustrations, presentation/document design)
• Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat)
• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint)
• Web CMS platforms (e.g., Drupal, WordPress)
• Content writing and editing for web
Working knowledge of:
• HTML, CSS, and responsive design
• Server-side JavaScript
• Markdown, GitHub
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, fast-paced team environment.
• Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Sketchup or rendering tools.
• Experience in training, education, or outreach activities.
• Familiarity with Open edX or other e-learning platforms.
