General Summary
Provides complex technical support in areas such as research, design, development, testing, installation, or manufacturing.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)
* Provides hardware support to systems *
* Installs and maintains mini-rack systems, including upgrades *
* Assists in engineering and/or environmental testing *
* Tests, troubleshoots, and repairs complex problems *
* Assembles small to large electromechanical assemblies. Tests and troubleshoots assemblies. Combines subassemblies into final assemblies, components, or apparatus *
* Installs and maintains computer and/or security systems, including upgrades *
* Diagnoses and corrects equipment and system malfunctions which fail to respond to standard corrective measures *
* Provides input and direction for maintenance of system mechanical drawings
* May be responsible for the following:
* Assisting others, including customers, in using special equipment which may be somewhat complex in nature *
* Assisting in research work
* Preparing and generating written and/or oral reports on a regular basis
* Providing work leadership to lower level employees
* Developing/maintaining schematic drawings
* Developing and maintaining system block diagrams

Required Experience
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Minimum of five years of related work experience
* US Citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance at the SECRET level
* Working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs
* Patient, reliable, hard-working, and ability to lead a small team
Preferred Qualifications
* Two years of electronics training from technical trade school or military technical school or two years of computer training as applicable to the job
* Basic electronics training or experience
* Familiarity with multi-meters, hand tools, and other electronics equipment
* Soldering experience/certification a plus
