We are searching for an Electrical Engineer. The ideal candidate can leverage emerging technologies in conjunction with proven concepts to develop cutting edge electrical systems that are modular, robust and low SWAP. Electrical design assignments can range from critical uncrewed system components to embedded compute systems. A broad understanding of design and testing methodologies is desired. A broad knowledge of appropriate development/testing tools is a must.
Responsibilities:
· Development embedded electrical components for various unmanned use cases.
· Development of emerging product lines.
· Digital and analog electrical circuit design.
· Knowledge of PCB design and required tools/processes.
· Support technical reviews
· Documentation of design, test procedures and test reports
· Create and update documentation of all types: schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, assembly diagrams, maintenance logs, standard operating procedures, and instruction manuals, and keep documentation accurate, available, and ready for use as needed
· Design and develop interfaces for modern day embedded computer modules.
· Develop, execute and report on design verification tests and prototype tests.
· Develop, execute and report on robustness testing (cycle testing, vibration testing, surge testing, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
· 2-3 years of experience developing electrical systems for robotics.
· Literate in PCB design tools such as Eagle/OrCAD/Altium
· Must have the ability to obtain a security clearance.
· Experience in embedded processor breakout board design.
· Experience in digital and analog circuit design.
· Experience creating and documenting electrical system schematics.
· Experience in multi-layer PCB design.
· Experience in PCB design with multiple signal types.
· Proven ability to work in a flexible team environment and deliver timely, high-quality results.
· Knowledge of Unmanned Systems. This includes UAS, USV, UUV, UGV.
· An understanding of unmanned systems sensors and components.
· Experience with using lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, waveform generators, signal analyzer, microscope, soldering tools/methods.)
· Capable of performing with a limited level of technical guidance.
· Capable of understanding customer need and requirements to create capable and useful designs.
· Capable of teaching and leading peers.
Preferred Qualifications
· Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with relevant project experience.
· Experience with various PCB design software.
· Experience with various battery cell technology
· Experience with renewable energy sources.
· Experience acting as a team leader.
· Active Secret security clearance.
· A shareable portfolio of prior design projects would be welcomed.
Travel:
This position will likely involve travel to customer and non-customer sites principally in North America (up to 20%), but global travel is also possible.
Other Criteria:
Strongly prefer domicile near the Boston/Cambridge metro area but will consider non-local domicile – relocation to Boston area part of compensation package, if necessary.
Security clearance (active or previous) or the ability to be granted one desired.
