Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Government Relations Director to support GRVTY National Security initiatives. This role will play a critical part in representing the company's interests before federal agencies, Congress, and key stakeholders, while ensuring alignment with national security priorities and compliance with government regulations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the U.S. defense and national security procurement process, relevant legislation, and public policy dynamics. This role will be a direct report to GRVTY's CEO and Senior Advisory Board.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advocacy & Policy Engagement
    • Develop and implement government relations strategies to support the company's defense programs and business objectives.
    • Monitor and influence defense-related legislative and regulatory developments at the federal level.
    • Engage with Congressional offices, the Department of Defense (DoD), and other relevant federal agencies.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Build and maintain relationships with key policymakers, committee staff, agency officials, industry associations, and think tanks.
    • Coordinate site visits, briefings, and other engagements to showcase company capabilities and impact.
  • Internal Coordination
    • Serve as lead on all government relations campaign development for GRVTY initiatives supporting program growth and advocacy.
    • Coordinate with GRVTY's established lobbying activities to expand reach throughout Capitol Hill.
    • Work cross-functionally with GRVTY's executive, marketing/communication, program management, and growth teams to align government relations with operational goals.
    • Provide timely analysis, briefings, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Compliance & Reporting
    • Ensure all lobbying and advocacy activities comply with the Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA), FAR/DFARS regulations, ITAR, and other applicable laws.
    • Support internal reporting, including congressional engagement tracking, and Key Performance Indicators.


Qualifications:
  • U.S. citizenship with a Top Secret Clearance is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Ideal candidate will be located in the DC Metro area.
  • Ideal candidate will have a strong background in defense technology
  • 5-10 years of experience in government affairs, legislative policy, or defense industry engagement.
  • Familiarity with U.S. federal budget and appropriations processes, particularly in defense and national security.
  • Strong knowledge of defense acquisition policies and contracting frameworks (FAR/DFARS).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to translate complex issues into clear advocacy messages.
  • Existing relationships within DoD, Congress (especially SSCI/HPSCI/HASC/SASC/HACD/SACD), and related federal agencies a strong plus.


Desired Qualifications:
  • Prior work in or with the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community and/ or Armed Services Committees.
  • Experience supporting large-scale defense contracts or programs.
  • Knowledge of industrial base and supply chain issues affecting national defense.
