Tyto Athene is searching for a Junior AV Technician to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.
The Junior AV Technician sets up, operates, and maintains audiovisual (AV) equipment to support daily operations, meetings, and events across USSOUTHCOM. This is an entry level role intended for those building foundational knowledge of AV systems and operations in DoD or enterprise environments.

Tyto Athene is searching for a Junior AV Technician to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.
The Junior AV Technician sets up, operates, and maintains audiovisual (AV) equipment to support daily operations, meetings, and events across USSOUTHCOM. This is an entry level role intended for those building foundational knowledge of AV systems and operations in DoD or enterprise environments.
Responsibilities:
- Sets up, operates, and maintains audiovisual (AV) equipment to support daily operations, meetings, and events across USSOUTHCOM
- Assist with the installation and configuration of video conferencing, production support, and collaboration technologies
- Perform basic troubleshooting, diagnostics, and routine maintenance to support system functionality and reliability
- Support security measures to protect AV systems while maintaining accessibility and interoperability
- Work alongside senior technicians and engineers to integrate new AV technologies and resolve technical issues
- Provide hands-on support for executive communications, press conferences, and classified/unclassified AV-enabled events
- Assists in system inspections, compliance checks, and routine maintenance tasks aligned with cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations (COOP) strategies
- Responds to Tier 1 service requests, collaborating with service desks and IT teams to address user-reported issues
- Supports equipment testing, inventory management, and AV integration with enterprise systems to maintain operational readiness and mission support
- Monitor live sessions and support basic troubleshooting of microphones, cameras, and projectors
- Label, test, and organize AV cables and components
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 0-3 years of experience in AV support or IT/Help Desk
- Basic understanding of AV technologies and hardware
Desired:
- Associate's degree in related field
- Certified Technology specialist
Clearance:
- Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
Certification:
- DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
- CompTIA Security+ CE
- CompTIA ITF+

- Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
