Piper Companies is seeking a Systems Administrator for an established healthcare organization. This is a 6-month contract and is REMOTE (based in US, must work EST).
Responsibilities of the Systems Administrator:
• Support the remediation of Windows Server 2012 environments, including upgrade planning and execution to Azure.
• Maintain and administer enterprise-level Windows and Linux systems in a hybrid on-prem/cloud environment.
• Collaborate with vendors to manage third-party applications and navigate upgrade or decommission scenarios.
• Use SCCM/ECCM for system patching, updates, and reboots.
• Develop PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks and support infrastructure needs.
• Contribute to day-to-day operations and potentially backfill team responsibilities to enable focus on remediation work.
• Participate in team meetings and work closely with a tenured, collaborative group of senior administrators and analysts.
• Help ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
• Provide occasional support with BI scripting and troubleshooting Linux environments.
Qualifications of the Systems Administrator:
• Experience with both Windows and Linux system administration (Windows-focused, Linux exposure is a plus).
• Proficient in PowerShell scripting and system automation tasks.
• Hands-on experience with SCCM/ECCM in an enterprise environment.
• Comfortable working with external vendors and navigating budget, upgrade, and operational constraints.
• Prior exposure to remediation projects or enterprise infrastructure upgrades is highly desirable.
• Understanding of HIPAA compliance standards is beneficial.
• Must have a degree or be actively enrolled in a degree program to be eligible for full-time conversion.
Compensation for the Systems Administrator:
· Hourly Rate: $50 - $58 / hr DOE
· Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, sick leave as required by law
