Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Mechanisms Engineer to join a Federal Program in Midland, TX. The Manufacturing Engineer will responsible for development of assembly, integration, and test of various space-flight mechanisms for the deployment of a satellite constellation.
Responsibilities of the Mechanisms Engineer include:
· Contributes to ongoing improvements in mechanism design based on insights from testing and production environments.
· Conducts testing and leads test teams; develops test plans, materials, procedures, and tools for vibration, shock, thermal vacuum (TVAC), and assembly.
· Engages in design, analysis, and system trade studies to optimize mechanism Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) at both system and spacecraft levels, focusing on workflow efficiency, ease of integration, test readiness, and production speed.
· Offers feedback to Design Engineering to enhance manufacturing flow, reduce costs, and improve layout by applying expertise in product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
· Compiles product and process reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing data, and incorporating feedback from technicians and operators.
· Applies sound engineering principles to execute design and analysis tasks in compliance with business standards, procedures, and program requirements.
· Diagnoses and resolves anomalies and failures through troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
· Delivers manufacturing engineering support to the Production team.
Qualifications for the Mechanisms Engineer include:
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace) or 8+ years of equivalent experience.
· Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Thrives in high-paced environments and is willing to commit to extended work hours when needed.
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
Compensation for the Mechanisms Engineer includes:
· Salary Range: $90,000 - $115,000 depending on experience
