Amentum has an Operating Engineer position opening at our Springfield, VA location.
The selected candidate must possess a Top Secret clearance and be available for 24/7 operations to include evening, night and weekend shift work. Current shifts are 0600-1400 / 1400-2200 / 2200-0600.
The licensed Operating Engineer operates and maintains one or more systems that provide an establishment with such services as heat, air-conditioning, refrigeration, steam or high-temperature water or electricity in the CUP.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Observe and interpret readings on gauges, meters and charts which register various aspects of the system and to meet demand for the service provided
- Record logs in various aspects of the systems operation, keeping the engines, machinery and equipment of the system in good working order
- Direct and coordinate activities of other workers in performing task directly related to operating and maintaining the system or systems
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Must be skilled in the repair of electronic control equipment; workers in establishments producing electricity, steam, or heated or cooled air.
- Ability to lift 45 lbs.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must possess and maintain an active DoD TS clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI
Minimum Knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- MD stationary engineer license level 1 or DC stationary engineer level 3 required.
