Unmanned Maritime Systems Mechanical Engineer
The Opportunity:
As a mechanical engineering management spe cia list, you know the complexities of supporting a project from concept to completion. Many programs require a significant investment of limited resources, and it's imperative to keep the project on a productive path. That's why we need you, an experienced project management spe cia list who can help ensure success through careful analysis and effective communication.
On our team, you'll implement and maintain organizational programs in support of Unmanned Maritime Systems. You'll work with key stakeholders to review procedural documentation. You'll help with tactical planning using resources like MS Project and regular interactions with SMEs and schedulers.
Work with us and ensure the customer accomplishes its project goals within budget as we improve warfighting capability in the maritime domain. Travel may be required for testing at various locations, collaboration with partner organizations, and attendance at conferences or workshops.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. You Have:
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering
- Experience with underwater vehicle design and development
- Experience with CAD sof tware such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
- Knowledge of fluid dynamics and material science
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with UUVs or other underwater robotics
- Experience with simulation sof tware such as ANSYS or MATLAB
- Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques such as 3D printing
- Experience with naval operations and protocols
- Knowledge of electrical systems and integration
- Possession of excellent problem-solving and detail-oriented skills
- Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Project Management Certification such as PMP Certification
