Tyto Athene is searching for a Tester - Journeyman to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.
The Journeyman Tester is responsible for supporting the development, execution, and documentation of testing activities for software systems, and applications to ensure they meet specified requirements. This position plays a key role in verifying system functionality, usability, and compliance with Department of Defense and security standards.

Tyto Athene is searching for a Tester - Journeyman to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.
The Journeyman Tester is responsible for supporting the development, execution, and documentation of testing activities for software systems, and applications to ensure they meet specified requirements. This position plays a key role in verifying system functionality, usability, and compliance with Department of Defense and security standards.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute test cases based on system requirements and design documents
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing
- Log, track, and retest defects using test management and issues tracking systems
- Work closely with developers, analysts, and system engineers to validate results
- Assist in the development of test documentation including test plans, procedures, and reports
- Participate in the project development process and provide feedback during testing cycles and retrospective meetings.
- Participates in daily stand-ups and sprint reviews, reporting on testing activities, progress, and identified defects
- Conduct manual and automated testing, depending on project needs
- Support the setup, configuration, and maintenance of test environments
- Ensure that systems tested meet DoD security and compliance requirements
Required:
- Associate's in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field
- 4-9 years of experience in software or system testing
- Familiarity with test management tools
- Understanding of software development and quality assurance methodologies
- Experience writing and executing test plans and cases
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
Desired:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience with automated testing tools
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks
- Basic scripting or programming knowledge
- Knowledge of DoD Risk Management Framework, STIGs, and cybersecurity practices
- Experience supporting federal government of DoD programs
Clearance:
- TS/SCI clearance required
Certification:
- DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
- CompTIA Security+ CE.
- Certified tester - Foundational Level or equivalent

- Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
