System & Solution Engineer

Kratos is looking for a System Solution Engineer in support of a Department of Defense (DOD) customer. The DOD customer oversees innovative programs solving the nation's toughest problems. This position requires an individual with demonstrated technical depth and leadership skills; experienced with technical programs; systems engineering prowess in developing satellite ground systems; knowledge and understanding of the DoD IC and SATCOM communities; and ability to rapidly innovate and integrate new technologies into legacy and new products.

Job Duties

• Interfaces with the customer to understand and develop requirements while working with the internal Kratos team to derive solutions using a combination of commercial and government furnished equipment to meet mission requirements
• This position will focus on Space Domain Awareness including the incorporation of RF and Sensor data to support Electro-Magnetic Spectrum and Cyber Operations.
• This is an engineering job focused on getting solutions quickly into operations
• This position will serve multiple customers within the Washington DC metro area

Experience and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (EE, ME, AE, CS) or applied sciences (Mathematics, Physics)
• Experience in decomposition of Govt/Customer requirements to a system, subsystem, and components
• Experience in organizing external and internal project stakeholders towards achieving project goals and objectives
• Experience in SATCOM ground system design, installation, and operations
• Ability to brief, explain complex engineering concepts and designs to technical and non-technical personnel
• Minimum ten (10) years of experience, with five (5) years in space SATCOM/RF and/or satellite ground systems
• Space Domain Awareness, Electro- Magnetic Spectrum and Cyber Operations
• RF Systems Engineering Experience
• RF Signals Analysis Experience: Able to examine a signal of interest and characterize its key performance indicators.
• Systems Engineering and Solution Architecture
• Experience with DOD, DOD technical agencies as well as Intelligence Community
• Power Point, Visio, Word, Excel, architectural diagraming
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• US Citizen with a current, active TS Security Clearance

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience estimating engineering effort required to fill gaps based on technical gap analysis
• Experience with digital engineering such as Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
• Satellite & Space Domain Awareness Operational Experience
• Experience with system architecture, requirements, interface definition, integration, verification, and validation
• Experience with satellite space and/or ground systems
