About the Role
TEKsystems is seeking Software Engineers with strong Java and/or .NET experience to support a mission-critical command-and-control system for the Mobility Air Force. This is a remote opportunity to work on a high-impact federal project undergoing modernization and migration to Amazon GovCloud.
You’ll be part of a collaborative Agile team, contributing to software development, automation, and CI/CD pipeline enhancements. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in secure, cloud-based environments and are passionate about clean, scalable code.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and deploy Java/C# applications
• Support and mentor junior developers
• Refactor legacy code and resolve backlog defects
• Implement and evolve test automation using tools like Selenium, Cypress, or TestComplete
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based deployment strategies
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and planning sessions
• Ensure code quality through automated security scans and code reviews
Required Skills
• Proficiency in Java and/or C#
• Experience with Linux, Python, or Bash scripting
• Front-end skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, JSON, XML
• Strong knowledge of AWS Cloud and Docker
• Familiarity with Agile methodology
• Experience with SQL and relational databases
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
Nice-to-Have Skills
• CI/CD tools and automation
• DevSecOps practices
• Experience with cloud-native development
• Government or DoD project experience
Education & Experience Levels
• Software Engineer I – 3+ years experience + Bachelor’s (or 6 years experience)
• Software Engineer II – 5+ years experience + Bachelor’s (or 8 years experience)
• Software Engineer III – 7+ years experience + Bachelor’s (or 10 years experience)
Clearance Level: Secret
• This position requires an active DoD Clearance (Secret, Top Secret, Top Secret/SCI) or the ability to be obtain an (Interim Secret, Interim Top Secret)
• Because an active or interim DoD clearance is required, U.S. Citizenship is required
Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $150,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, TEKsystems considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
