Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $86460 - $146982
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

BAE Systems is seeking an Environmental Specialist, Senior to support at its site in Louisville, Kentucky. In this role as an Environmental Specialist, Senior, you will be charged to:
- Develop and implement programs to ensure that environmental regulatory obligations are fulfilled in a timely and cost-effective manner, and that environmental risks are effectively managed.
- Analyze and maintain detailed records of pollutant concentrations in air, wastewater, soil, construction materials, and waste samples.
- Implement policies and practices to oversee compliant air emissions, hazardous wastes, and/or industrial wastewater treatment plant operations.
- Drive the facility's pollution prevention and waste minimization programs through periodic monitoring and/or training.
- Maintain detailed records and prepare related reports and studies for submission to regulatory agencies.
- Provide guidance to staff to help assure compliant operations of wastewater pretreatment operations and assure compliant waste handling practices and procedures, including accurate waste profiling, inspections and shipping.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelors degree is required in a related field and with at least five years of related experience
- Must have solid math and chemistry comprehension
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer proficiency in MS Office, including Excel
- Possess the mobility to access all areas of the facility which includes stairs
- Must be able to achieve security clearance for classified area
- Able to support on-site
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Visible Emissions Evaluator certification
- Ability to characterize waste and maintain waste profiles
- Experience preparing and submitting annual Notifications of Hazardous Waste Activity
- Experience preparing and submitting annual Hazardous Waste Reports & Assessments
- Chemical Management Experience (Tier II and Tier III / TRI Reporting)
- RCRA Waste Management training per 401 KAR 35:020 § 7 and 40 CFR 265.16
- TSCA Import/Export training
- Experience in ISO 14001/45001
- Advanced function-specific DOT HazMat training
- CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) certification
